About

Why Write the FoxtrotMike Blog?

Most of the materials written for our industry seem far from independent and without bias. Although any written document or blog has some level of bias, this blog is not trying to please investors, manufacturers, financial service providers or anyone else.

Claude: “After 30+ years in this industry, I felt it was time for me to express myself without the constraints of the vested interests that are typical to my previous workplaces. The goal is to speak the truth to give readers insight into the insider’s view of the financial actions within the corporate jet market.”

So, what is this Blog?

It is articles about the Corporate Jet Market. In particular, it focuses on the transactional side of the industry. Almost all jets have some form of financial services as part of purchase and operation of corporate jets.

The blog focuses on the deals, the financial suppliers, and market conditions.

We ask simple questions:

Q. Can supplier “X” offer services in Russia, China or even India?

Q. What rates do the suppliers offer in what region and what limits do their backers impose on them?

Q. Deals on Jet “Y” seem to show a major drop in residual prices for this model – why and what caused it.

We also consider articles:

A. Under current conditions, the loan vs lease question has changed

A. The 5 top jets being traded now

A. Residuals on some jets have dramatically dropped in the last few months – Is this showing a depression the used jet market?
