Details of Our Newsletter
1) What, Why, Who, When, Where
What is the newsletter?
The site has information and regularly submitted articles – see about us for a background on this site.
We post articles periodically over each month. The base content of our newsletter includes a summary of latest articles, including content from submitted comments. Also, when it makes sense we include updates to the original articles.
We continue to refine and enhance our newsletter. This means that the newsletter format, content, links to sites of interest, and news content keeps evolving.
Please use our contact us page to give us feedback.
Is the newsletter free?
Yes, we send our free newsletter to everyone who has requested the newsletter via our sign-up page.
Who writes it?
We, the editors of foxtrotmike.com, produce and distribute this newsletter.
We do not send out mailings for 3rd parties. We use content from 3rd parties only when it is part of our newsletter.
Examples of this type of content:
- A clarification a 3rd party has supplied to an article
- Links to a service related to an article
- News of general interest, including some press releases
- etc.
How often do you send the newsletter?
We currently send the newsletter out as a monthly summary of our articles and related information.
2) Subscription Managment
How do I subscribe to the newsletter?
Please use our newsletter sign-up form to subscribe to our newsletter.
How do I unsubscribe from the Newsletter?
When you sign-up we send you an email to verify you wanted to sign-up for the newsletter. On this, and all newsletter correspondence, we include links to manage your subscriptions from our site. To directly unsubscribe please complete this form and you will be immediately removed from the newsletter mailing list.
This form will take you to the MailChimp website. We use their system for all of our newsletter processing.
Can I email my subscription request?
We us an automated process when you sign-up via the on-line form. This includes our internal checks and the verification process.
We can hand process your request if you are having problems with the sign-up. Please contact support@foxtrotmike.com for help and we will promptly respond.
I did not receive an email from you?
If you did not receive an email from us a check the list below for some common causes:
- Your email address in the subscribe/unsubscribe form is not correct – check for errors
- The email is be placed in your “Junk” folder – please check the Junk Folder for our email
- The server you are using is on a blacklist
Please contact us support@foxtrotmike.com if you have check step 1 and 2. We will promptly respond to your email.
Why do you require confirmation?
To stop someone from subscribing you, or making other changes to your account, without your consent we use a two-step process.
- You send a request for a change (new, update, etc.) to our service, usually via a web form
- We respond to this request with a verification email to the address submitted, or the email address on file for an existing subscriber
- You can either click on the link, or cut and paste the link into a web browser to complete the request
We take your security very seriously. Please contact us if you have any questions.
How can I change my email address?
For newsletter subscriptions we maintain a mailing list. Change change your email address:
- Sign-up with your new email address
- Unsubscribe your previous one.
My subscribe/unsubscribe request failed. What is next?
When submitting a form sometimes things do not always work as smoothly as wished. Please try again if you have problems subscribing or unsubscribing to our services.
Trying to sign-up twice with the same email address will not resulting being register a second time.
If you ask us to remove a second time and we have already marked your account as such this will not create any problems.
When we receive you change request we will email you asking you to verify the change. Until we receive your verification we do not alter your service nor sign you up to anything new.

3) Delivery and Content
Who do I I talk to about the content on your site?
As with all things on this site you can contact us via our web for on the Contact US page or send an email to support@foxtrotmike.com.
We like our clients to add comments when they feel that the discussion would benefit their input. If you have concerns outside of this please contact us and we will try to address your concerns.
Why don’t the links work in the Newsletter?
We publish the newsletter in HTML (web) format. This allows for a better looking layout and graphical content.
- Some email clients only accept text message and do not know how to handle links. You need to change your email preferences to allow for html content or change email clients to enable links.
- The embedded HTML is sometimes filtered by email programs to try to improve security by blocking links. Again, this is a setting in the individual email client software.
We do not have many complaints about our HTML content. If this is something the directly affects you please contact support@foxtrotmike.com and we will promptly respond to your email.
Do you have back issues?
We are considering having back issues posted on the site. Right now the only way to see the newsletter is to sign-up for it.
No newsletter has arrived – what should I do?
Signed Up?
We are assuming you have successfully completed the subscription process. If not please complete the sign-up form.
News Letter Published?
When we publish a newsletter we add a notification to our pages for that new newsletter. Check that we have published a new newsletter since you signed up.
Expect to Find Missing Newsletter?
If you are still expecting the newsletter there are a few more items to consider:
- The email is be placed in your “Junk” folder
Please check your Junk/Spam folder for the emails.
- Your email address is no longer on our mailing list we stop sending the newsletter
If in doubt try signing up again via the sign-up form. Signing up again has no impact on an active account. The system will send you an email as part of the process. If you do not receive an email look at the “I did not receive an email from you?” topic.
- Your email server is rejecting email from our email server

Who can advertise in the Newsletters?
We normally limit 3rd party content to corrections and links directly related to an article. We are not looking to make these newsletters marketing emails for the sole purpose of selling products and services. They are informative and unbiased.
Why am I receiving multiple copies of your newsletter?
We track the newsletter subscribers by email address. We send only one copy of the newsletter per subscribed email address.
There are a few common scenarios where this can occur
- It is possible that you have signed up using more than one address. Please check and then follow the unsubscribe process as noted in this FAQ section.
- The mail servers sending and receiving messages do sometimes have problems and a message could be duplicated if one of the servers in this chain has a problem. This is rare but it can happen.
